"History for a King"

If we trace back our family history through our family tree, we can learn a lot about how we got here. While so many of the names will be unknown to us, they tell our family history, the highlights and the challenges, the heroes and the scoundrels of our past. Where did we come from? What is our background? How does that affect us now? The gospel of Matthew begins with Jesus’ genealogy to show us His connection with God’s promises, and to show us how He was the One who would fulfill God’s promises on our behalf. He is the Savior God has sent, and He is the Savior we need.
