“Origins: All in the Family”

Much of the news around the world is bleak. With the things that happen in this world, and grab our headlines, it is hard to have much hope for humanity. That is the story of Genesis 4. But the bad news isn’t the full story. Our hope isn’t in humanity, but we have full hope in God. He has promised He will have a light in the world. God redeems people and sets them as witnesses of His glory, worshipping Him in holiness, and doing good in the world. This is God’s story, and it is first pictured in Genesis 5, as He redeems a group of people by grace, bringing hope into our world. Today, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be characterized as people of hope. Let’s see how this works out in our passage today.
