Does the church matter? As the church in western nations struggle with decreased participation, we can see the cultural effects around us. Atheists may celebrate, agnostics don’t pay attention, but do we as believers see the importance of the church and its work? If we see it, are we walking in health so we can effectively fulfill God’s mission for us? The apostle Paul and his apprentice Titus had started new churches in Crete, a morally corrupt Mediterranean island. Paul wrote the epistle to Titus to ensure the health of the church in Crete, for the continued mission of the church to this dark nation.
