“When Faith Falters”

What is it that causes faith to falter? Of all the reasons we can think of, fear may be at the top of the list. When our fears for the future outweigh our confidence in the promises of God, there is no limit to the bad decisions we can make. Today’s story is a cautionary tale as we follow Abram from the initial excitement of God’s call (Genesis 12:1-9) to a sin that could have derailed Abram’s future (Genesis 12:10-20). As we go, we must ask ourselves what fears are overriding our faith, and look to the promises of God to strengthen us in addressing them. What happens when we allow fear to override faith?
