“Rescuing the Captives”

We cannot help but be affected by the sin and evil of the world around us (Genesis 14:1-10). Engagement in the world is necessary; entanglement is not. In today’s passage we will see how we need to be a witness to the world without being consumed by the world. Some may compromise with the world, being overcome with the foolishness of sin. Others let the world set the agenda for their lives. As followers of Jesus Christ, we live in this world, but we belong to another kingdom – the kingdom of God. As we have been rescued from the world of sin, we need to live for the kingdom God rescued us to. What do we need to be ready to jump in for the building of God’s kingdom?
