It is easy to be deluded with our own self-sufficiency. We may think we are managing life well until a surprise upsets our agenda. When we come to the end of ourselves, we have a choice – will we humble ourselves before God or not? Just because we are humbled by our circumstances (or at least that we should be humbled), does not mean that we will be humble. We need to choose humility. Our passage expresses three choices that are part of humility:
