"Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!" – Psalm 96:3
For over fifty years, New Life in Christ Church has been committed to proclaiming the Lord’s favor both locally and globally. Missions is not just a program—it is part of our identity. From the beginning, we have embraced the gospel’s call to reach all people, in every nation, tribe, and tongue.
Our Heart for Missions
Our passion for missions flows from the heart of Christ Himself. In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus declared that He came to bring good news to the poor, freedom to the captives, and sight to the blind. He proclaimed the year of the Lord’s favor—a message of grace and redemption that extends to all people. Just as Christ’s mission was to bring true freedom, we, too, are called to carry that message to the ends of the earth. Missions is not an optional endeavor—it is an essential calling, rooted in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
Our History in Missions
For five decades, we have faithfully supported, sent, and engaged in missions. For 50 years, missions has been at the core of who we are, shaping our church’s identity and purpose. Over the years, we have seen members of our church step out in faith to serve in various capacities—some as full-time missionaries, others through short-term trips, and many through financial and prayer support.
Our church partners with missionaries and organizations worldwide in areas such as church planting, discipleship, Bible translation, medical missions, refugee assistance, and community development. Locally, we reach our neighbors through church planting, immigrant outreach, college student ministry, and mercy ministry, recognizing that God has brought the nations to us.
The Cost and Joy of Missions
The glory of God is being proclaimed among the nations, and one day, His people from every tribe and tongue will stand before His throne in worship. In Revelation 7:9-10, we see this vision: "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'" This passage reminds us that the gospel is for all people, revealing God's vision to gather a multitude from every nation into His kingdom. As His church, we are called to join in this work, bringing the good news of Christ to the nations and participating in His redemptive mission.
As a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), we have the privilege of bringing the nations to God in prayer and proclaiming the excellencies of Christ. This is our sacred calling—to intercede for the lost and to make known the good news of salvation. Missions costs us in many ways—our time, finances, and comfort—but the cost is far outweighed by the privilege of seeing lives transformed by the gospel. David Livingstone, the missionary to Africa, once said, “I never made a sacrifice.” He understood that what he gave up was nothing compared to the joy of serving Christ. Missions requires sacrifice, but it is a privilege and a pathway to experiencing God’s grace in greater measure.
